The Health and Safety Executive approve and monitor First Aid at Work training providers to ensure that the guidance outlined by them is followed allowing everybody in the UK who hold a current First Aid at Work qualification is trained to the same standard. We are proud to be able to state that we are one of these organizations. The HSE Approved First Aid at Work course is a 3 day course that is run several times monthly by Albacare. These include 3 Monday's (with the exception of Public Holidays) and 3 consecutive days during the month to fit with employer and employees needs. The course consists of - developing a basic understanding of the fundamental working and functions of the human body, in particular the circulatory, nervous and respiratory systems. recognising the difference between the healthy, injured and ill casualty, developing the ability to record basic measurements of vital body functions, assessing all incidents with regard to the safety of both casualty and first aider, being able to take control of and managing an incident until more highly qualified assistance is available, prioritise the treatment of multiple casualties, demonstrate skills in Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and its process, care of the conscious and unconscious casualty and the required treatments., dealing with all types of wounds, provide appropriate treatment of burns, recognise types of illness and the carrying out the appropriate care required, gain knowledge of the relevant legislation, record keeping and reporting of incidents. Included on the course is lunch, tea and coffee along with all the manuals necessary.
